{Travel} My San Francisco Night Owl Photography workshop experience
While I was planning my trip to San Francisco, a tour of the city is on top of my list. My brother sent me a link on Aperture Academy’s photography workshops. He asked me to choose between two workshops around San Francisco. I was kind of hesitant because of the price. At $250/for one night of shooting, it’s a bit expensive for my budget. But he told me it’s his treat for me. It would take us to four sites around the city without worrying about our safety, parking, etc. I chose the Night Owl Photography class which starts at 7 in the evening.
Fast forward to October 10. My brother took the day off so we can go around San Francisco all day. It was a 45 minute drive from Livermore (my brother’s home) to the city. We went to Castro street (one of my requested place to go because my maiden name is Castro) for street photography, with a mental note to myself to name the album, “the Castros on the Castro”. We also went to Treasure Island and Legion of Heroes Museum.
By 5:30PM we drove to Marin County where we met the Aperture Academy group. But before we joined the group, we went to Ross to buy gloves for me (thankful for this because it was really very cold that night). There were 12 of us joining the workshop. After a brief intro, we head back to the city in the AA van. Below is the write up of our workshop.

These are some of my photos during the workshop. I learned a lot of techniques on shooting at night and thus, rekindled my love for urban nightscapes.
